Dr. A. Aurora Badia opened Florida Skin Center (“FSC”) in Ft. Myers, Florida in July 2001, just after completing her dermatology training in Albany, New York. For the past 17 years, she has developed the practice to be a full service dermatology center, offering state of the art technology and amenities to her guests. Dr. Badia is unique in her field as she holds a rare dual specialty as a pediatric dermatologist. In fact, she is the only doctor in Lee County with this certification and you would have to drive to Miami (160 miles) to find another doctor with her specialty. She is well versed in treating guests of all ages, even newborns. Medical dermatology for children and adults is the focus of FSC.Under her leadership FSC has opened three additional 5- star facilities in Cape Coral (2013), Lehigh Acres (2016) and Punta Gorda (2018)! FSC is the winner of the “2018 Best Dermatology Practice in Cape Coral, Florida” for our Cape Coral facility, and the “2018 Best of Southwest Florida” for our Ft. Myers, Florida office. FSC’s offices have been also named the best dermatology centers from 2013- 2017 by our respective communities’ public opinion polls.Florida Skin Center has been selected as one of Florida Trend’s ‘Best 2018 and 2017 Companies to Work for in Florida.’ under the ‘Best SMALL Companies’ category. Florida Skin Center competed for the honor against hundreds of businesses in the State of Florida and beyond, following a voluntary survey with a questionnaire about company policies, practices and demographics, as well as 78 statements rated on a five-point agreement scale by randomly-selected, anonymous employees.
