Dr. Pauline Jones Furman is the Executive Director and owner of the Center for Individual and Family Counseling. She has been in private practice for 29 years. Her specialty is marital therapy, focusing on couples with blended families as well as issues surrounding bereavement and loss, confusion of values or purpose, depression or anxiety, eating disorders, separation or divorces, post-traumatic stress, self-control, alcohol or drug abuse, sexual abuse, work related stress or problems.Dr. Furman provides emergency psychological first aid services to a variety businesses, companies, schools and organizations. She goes on site following traumatic events including, bank robberies, suicides, homicides and death on the job.
“Matters of Your Heart”Dr. Pauline J. Furman, was the host and creator of “Matters of Your Heart” an innovative and proactive talk show that aired on WADL TV. Furman taped 4 episodes of the show at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. The four shows covered such topics as: Domestic Violence, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety and Depression. Furman was delighted about this new opportunity to serve her community and to reach those who are hurting inwardly. “Helping people through and over their pain towards a more productive and fulfilled life is my ultimate goal” says Furman.
